THE PLANET GALLAI'FRÉ
An orange glowing planet hangs in the sky, seeming almost ominous in its presence. A vast orange space littered with patches of silver and gold. Pan around it as a small blue moon passes in front of it and just over the planets horizon the blinding light of a sun comes into being. Suddenly as if shattering the wonder of this image, an unknon object courses by at high speed as if from a tear in space and begins rocketing to the planets surface. The object is a long grey cylinder which starts to burn up as it enters the planets surface. As this happens, voices overlay the sequence. The voices seem to be coming over a sound system of sorts.
"The S-SIDRAT h-has r-re-entered the planets at-athmosphere! The v-vital stats are pl-plummeting! Its b-breaking up!! "
Parts of the ship begin to break off as it plummets towards the planet's surface going into a spiral. We follow the path of the SIDRAT down as it enters the planets athmosphere.
"V-Vitals at 42% p-percent, my L-Lord!"
" This is not at all good. It will hit the planet fast at this rate!"
" V-Vitals at 30% and f-falling! Im-Impact in s-sixy s-seconds m-my Lord!»
The SIDRAT Plummets faster now as the ground rushes up to meet it. An angry bellow is heard over the sound system.
"I'm s-sorry m-my L-L-lord! I w-was c-certain th-that I h-h-had .. had it t-this t-time!"
"Oh you are always certain! you have too much fate in yourself!"
Another voice, somewhat drawling and sarcastic but deep joins in.
"Can't even fly straight, who hired the pilot?"
"The p-pilot is a Womprat... Impact in.. 10... 9...8..."
The SIDRAT is now visible. We now see the owners of the voices from behind. One is a large
obese man wearing regal robes; Lord President Rassil Onasti Prydonius. The one to his left is a tall man in armour, a long back cape trailing to the ground, his hair blonde and cropped; Pailix 'Omega' Prydonius. To the right hand side stands a very small timid looking figure in orange robes which trail to the ground. He wears a pair of steampunk esqe goggles on his head holding back a mop of unkempt wavy blonde hair. This is Dr. Torghardon Emeth'Daia. A lady in elegant robes stands to the far left, deferentially silent. This is Lady Patience, Omega's wife. Someone else watches from the shadows hardly visible.
We see Torghar's face now. He is a youthful man with wide open eyes which are concealed behind a pair of round spectacles. He is slightly unshaven and is looking rather pale at present.
TORGHAR: ...3.. 2...1...
The SIDRAT crashes into the earth with a loud explosion. The small man sighs despondently and closes his eyes. The larger gentleman stands straight and very quiet, his hands behind his back as far as they can reach, barely touching. The other man in the armour smirks, looking bemused by this turn of events.
OMEGA: Well atleast the explosion was fun to watch
The larger of the three, clearly the leader looks to him slowly. There is a look of annoyance in his eyes.
RASSILON: Watch your tongue, Omega!
TORGHAR : Im g-glad you f-find the d-destruction of m-my creations s-so amusing, Pailix!!
Purple eyes watch them sadly from the shadows.
TORGHAR : [Sighs] I d-don't know wh-what w-went wrong... I w-was s-so sure...
RASSILON: That is exactly what went wrong
The shadowed figure, glares silently at Rassilon. The lady to the left of them remains still staring down at the wreckage of the smouldering crash site.
TORGHAR : You... w-wish me t-to b-be less optimistic m-my Lord? ..
RASSILON: Well you would'nt be so sure would you? In which case I should waste less energy in anticipation when you do fail.
TORGHAR : N-no.. m-my Lord... Although.. I d-do l-like t-to think that p-puh.. p-positivity is important in b-being s-s-ss..successful in one w-work.
The shadowed figure smiles.
OMEGA: Well when you are positive somethings going to work and then it doesn't, clearly that optimism is misplaced. Perhaps you should focus less on optimism and more on getting the job done.
RASSILON: Lord Omega has a point, Torghardon. Optimism does not gain us results, does it??
TORGHAR : N-no m-my Lord...
The figure in the shadows finally speaks. It is Aruken Stride, Torghar's best friend and confidante.
ARUKEN: Working for you two im not surprised it didn't work.
OMEGA: Silence, Stride! Your opinion isn't required!
TORGHAR I .. .. P-Perhaps if I t-try adjusting the d-drive sy-systems...
RASSILON: Hmm! perhaps indeed!
He spits his words in frustration. The unnamed gentleman grimaces as he sees this. The lady only frowns a little.
TORGHAR : I c-can t-try again.. M-my Lord...
Aruken steps forward now, bringing himself out from the cover of shadow. He is thin youthful looking gentleman with striking purple eyes and dark hair lined with red streaks. His clothes are of a different style to the others in the room, highlighting his disparity from them. He looks to Torghar reassuringly.
ARUKEN: You won't get anywhere unless you do
Torghar gives him a grateful smile.
ARUKEN: [Looks to Rassilon] You know you need Torghar for this. You also know that no one else can do this type of work as well as he can.
RASSILON: That is what worries me
Aruken only returns this statement with an angry stare.
TORGHAR : I t-think.. with s-some adjustments t-to the Protyon Unit P-prototype... P-puh-Perhaps.. Perhaps I c-could m-make a m-more v-viable c-craft?...
OMEGA: Maybe you should stop guessing and actually try it
RASSILON: SOME adjustements?!!! Hmm! indeed! I have a right mind to scrap the entire project in light of your insolance!
Lady Patience turns her head towards the group now. Her tone is cold.
PATIENCE : Maybe if you stop yelling at him he could actually get it right...
Aruken looks shocked at this and looks to Torghar.
TORGHAR : ... N-no! M-my Lord! Pl-Please! I kn-know I c-can d-do this! I am s-simply m-muh-missing a v-vital element!
Torghar is beginning to shake a little now, looking to Rassilon in anxiety. Stride touches his shoulder in concern.
RASSILON: You're so called genius perhaps??
TORGHAR : [Hunches his shoulders a little] ... Pl-Please... I n-need th-this job.. Its all I.. all I h-have..
RASSILON: Well give me one good reason to keep you on?! Seeing as you are so dreadful at it!!
TORGHAR: I... I...I..
PATIENCE : Now Rassilon... [She steps forward] We can't just give up now. Dr. Emeth'Daia has many more ideas. Let him try them out. What have we to lose?
TORGHAR : [Nods] I j-just n-n-need mm-more t-time t-to examine the ... the f-faults and r-rr-remedy them... P-Perhaps.. Perhaps the SIDRATS are n-not the c-correct k-kind of c-craft...
RASSILON: [Glares at Paitence] Hold your tongue, woman! [He looks to Torghar] You will do this Right! Torghardon!! I WILL NOT tolerate mistakes!!!!!
TORGHAR : N-No m-my Lord.. [Bows his head deferentially]
Omega grabs her by the wrist and whispers something harshly in her ear. She lowers
her gaze and nods Stride looks to Torghar and places a supportive hand on his
shoulder.Torghar swallows hard.
RASSILON: Good! We are agreed! The next one will succeed! And I will not have you thinking that it will work until we have physical proof, Doctor!
TORGHAR : N-No m-my L-Lord.
Rassilon gives him a dominating sneer, before grunting down his nose at him. Torghar looks up at him unsurely. They remain like this for a few moments before Rassilon breaks the silence.
RASSILON: What are you doing still standing there?!! ALL OF YOU GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!
Torghar yelps and scurries out of the room, followed promptly by Stride.
CUT TO: THE HALLWAY
Torghar walks quickly down a hallway, his head bowed and shoulders hunched. He looks like he might cry but swallows it down. Stride catches up with him placing a hand on his shoulder from behind. Torghar starts and turns backing up against a wall. He only relaxes when he realises who it is.
TORGHAR: Oh... Aruken, my d-dear friend. Its only you...
ARUKEN: Sorry about that. I forgot that you can be frighty after meeting Rassilon. [Looks to him sympathetically] Are you alright?
TORGHAR : Honestly.. N-no..
ARUKEN: I figured as much.
TORGHAR : I am an ut-utt-t-er f-failure...
ARUKEN: No! No you are not! Don't start saying that or you'll believe it!
TORGHAR : W-well m-maybe I sh-should...
They starts to walk again.
ARUKEN: Tor, please don't.
TORGHAR : M-maybe Im n-not as g-gifted as I think I am!
Behind them, a few feet down the hall Patience can be seen loitering about.
ARUKEN: Tor! That is not true and you know it!
They walk outside towards where the smoking remains of the SIDRAT is Torghar stops and stares at the wreckage.
EXT: THE CRASHSITE
ARUKEN: Everyone fails once in a while, Tor...
TORGHAR : S-seven t-times??
The lady continue to loiter behind them a little.
TORGHAR : T-Twenty one W-womprats, t-three Chronoscopes, and f-four SIDRATS.. All m-magnificent f-failures!
Aruken grimaces at this and goes over to the remains of the crashed ship.
ARUKEN: All you can do is keep trying
TORGHAR : It t-took me e-eight m-months t-to build th-this one... Eight s-solid m-months! It w-was s-so complex it c-could t-talk back t-to you. I was s-s-so sure!!
ARUKEN: Tor listen to me. A failure does not have to be a failure. Look at it in a diffrent light
TORGHAR : [Sidelong glance] I s-suppose your g-going t-to t-tell me it would m-make a wonderful sc-sculpture...
ARUKEN: Why would I say that? I am telling you to look at this as a chance to improve and get better, to strenghten your resolve.
TORGHAR : B-but I c-cannot d-do anymore!!
Aruken walks back to him.
TORGHAR : There is n-no way in w-which I c-can m-make this any m-more advanced! It's j-just a g-gigantic h-hunk of m-mechanical n-nothing
He kicks a piece of the wreckage and closes his eyes.
TORGHAR : [Squeaky] Hm??
ARUKEN: Don't give up. Don't just give in like that
TORGHAR : [Still squeaky. Eyes closed] R-ruken?
TORGHAR : I th-think I m-may have b-broken my t-toe...
Aruken looks to him and swallows down a chuckle.
ARUKEN: Oh Tor... Let me see
He bends down to examine his foot. Torghar flops onto his bottom and looks like he might cry. Aruken look about for something.
ARUKEN: Pafaya leaf, Pafaya leaf...AH! Pafaya leaf!
He grabs a leaf from a nearby bush and places it on tors toe.
ARUKEN: There that should help
Patience is now very close behind them, watching them quietly.
ARUKEN: Listen Tor. Maybe you need to try again eh?
Torghar looks to him for a moment then gets up.
TORGHAR: L-Let me s-show you s-something...
Aruken looks up to him and gets up.
ARUKEN: What is it?
Torghar gestures for him to follow. Turning then he almost walks straight into the lady. He squeaks and backs up into Aruken.
TORGHAR: K-Korai P-Patience!!
He bows to her. Aruken copies the gesture.
TORGHAR: F-forgive me!
PATIENCE : Oh dont be sorry ... I'm fine.
TORGHAR: [He looks rather flushed] I.. I.. St-still.. Cl-Clumsy..
He slaps his head and makes a silly face. Aruken covers his mouth with a concealed snigger.
TORGHAR : W-well... Er...G-Goodbye..
Eyes wide he walks straight past her back into the building.
PATIENCE : ..Torghar..
He stops and turns his head back looking genuinely surprised.
TORGHAR: ... Um... Y-yes?
PATIENCE: I am.. sorry about your SIDRAT...
TORGHAR : Oh... [Swallows and smiles] Th-thank you. S-so am I...
PATIENCE : Maybe next time..?
TORGHAR: Um... Yes.. M-maybe. ... ... Maybe one d-day..
He puts a hand to his chest and pats it thoughtfully. For a moment there is a look of longing in his eyes.
PATIENCE : I can't wait to see it.
TORGHAR : ... N-nor I...
He bites his bottom lip then shakes his head with a teary smile.
TORGHAR: Oh l-look at m-me! C-crying over a silly .. a s-ssilly old m-machine
ARUKEN: Don't call it that Tor
A voice booms then from inside the building.
OMEGA : Patience! come here I wish to speak with you!
Patience pulls out a handkerchief and hands it to him before turning to Omega.
PATIENCE: Oh.. I.. I'm sorry.. I should go... goodbye...
She rushes off back into the building. Torghar takes her handkerchief and shakily bows to her.
He looks to the handkerchief in his hand. He lets out a small tearful laugh and turns into the building and starts walking back the way they came. Aruken follows him with a shake of his head. They walk for a while in silence.
INT: THE HALLWAYS
TORGHAR: R-ruken... D-do... Do you h-have... do you have dr-dreams?
ARUKEN: Well doesn't everyone? It's what keeps people going
TORGHAR : I su-suppose s-so...
ARUKEN: Why do you ask?
TORGHAR : W-well... I t-too.. have.. d-dreams I suppose...
ARUKEN: [Smiles] So you should! Every being in this universe has dreams. It's what keeps us alive and trying. Chasing a dream and achieving it is what life is all about.
TORGHAR : Life... ... Hm.
INT: TORGHAR'S LABORATORY
They enter through a doorway into a moderately sized laboratory. It is lined with a workbench, computer banks and various apparatus. The tables are fills with complex formulaic apparatus and blueprints. To the right of them is a window.
TORGHAR: D-do you r-remember w-when I was very sm-small?
ARUKEN: [Looks to him with a fond smile] Of course I do!
TORGHAR : The t-things I used t-to be able t-to with m-my hands. P-people s-said I had a g-gift.A g-gift of life.
ARUKEN: You did and still do.
Torghar gestures for him to follow him into the back into a small rest area. There is nothing but a small bed and desk but the walls are lined with blueprints. He goes to the desk and takes up a leather bound book and hands it to him*
ARUKEN: [Looks to the book] What's this?
TORGHAR : Open it...
He does as told and opens the book. On the inside of the front cover is a sketch of a girl- very pretty with blonde hair and blue eyes. On the opposite page is Torghar's hand writing. The page begins with the words, 'My Dearest Arpexia'
ARUKEN: You've quite a skill with a stylus...
TORGHAR : Th-this is g-going t-to s-sound strange b-but... She's b-been w-with me f-for as long as I c-can remember...
He sits on his bed.
ARUKEN: [Looks to him and gives a soft smile] I see. So shes...
TORGHAR : I t-think p-perhaps... She's m-my g-guardian angel....
I ... I t-tell her everything..
Aruken pulls a chair over and sits on it the book in his lap.
ARUKEN: Sounds like a guardian to me..
TORGHAR : I f-feel... as if I've known her f-forever... Just an idea in m-my mind...
Aruken traces over the picture gently not touching the page with his finger.
ARUKEN: Not only your gaurdian but your muse
TORGHAR : I want t-to create .. t-to c-create... ... I w-want t-to cr-create l-life... Ruken..
There is a passion in his eyes now, a deep longing. Aruken gently closes the book gently and listens to him with a soft smile on his face.
TORGHAR : I w-want... I w-want my cr-creations t-to b-be m-more...M-more th-than just m-machines... f-for th-them to have m-more than a sy-synthetic existence! I w-want th-them to live, Ruken!
Aruken gets up and walks over and sits besdie him on the bed then and looks to him, his face shows genuine understanding and he smiles at him, he gives him a proud look.
ARUKEN: Then do that
TORGHAR : Im s-sorry?
ARUKEN: Do it. Create life as you said
TORGHAR : D-do... Do I have th-the r-right?
ARUKEN: Well ...
TORGHAR : Isn't th-that s-something only the ... The G-Goddess sh-should do..?
ARUKEN: No. Not always. Look at it this way. People make things all the time. Yes?
ARUKEN: Maybe not as you think but they love them all the same.Take for example you and your ships. Even though they only seem like machines to others, you give them a persona and you love them.
TORGHAR : P-people th-think i'm m-mad... and p-perhaps they're right. I m-mean... A l-living timeship! H-how would one even c-create s-such a thing? The cl-closest I have ever g-gotten is ad-advanced artificle in-intelligence...
ARUKEN: Okay. I'm going to tell you a belief of mine. It has kept me going all these years and i have never shared it with a single soul. Hopefully it will help you.
All life starts as a seed. You plant that seed in your mind. You nourish and cultivate it into a really brilliant and wonderful concept. You continue to help it along for as long as is necessary. it can be simple and insignificant at first but then eventually becomes something magnificent as it takes shape and grows tall...like a tree.
TORGHAR : G-grow...
Realisation dawns on his face. Outside Patience walks by the door, her hood hiding her face, her hand cupping her cheek.
TORGHAR : You t-think.. I n-need to .. g-grow my ships??
ARUKEN: As I said all life in my own opinion is grown.
TORGHAR : [Furrows his brow a little] Its... Its a w-wonderful c-concept...
TORGHAR : No... NonononononoNO! N-not a c-concept! A p-possibility!!!
He leaps up.
TORGHAR: Oh RUKEN!!
He grabs Aruken's face and plants a kiss on his forehead and then laughs.
TORGHAR: Th-thank you! Thank you s-so much m-my d-dearest friend!!
ARUKEN: [Looks bewildered] What did I do?
TORGHAR : You g-gave m-me a g-gift! A w-wonderful g-glorious GIFT!
He runs back into the main laboratory, bursting with excitement. Aruken tilts his head to the side then gets up and follows him.
ARUKEN: All I did was.. talk
TORGHAR : N-no! You d-did so m-much more! Inspiration, my d-dear boy! You INSPIRED me!!
ARUKEN: I did?
TORGHAR : Yes!! I n-need t-to GROW m-my sh-ships... n-not b-build them
ARUKEN: [Looks impressed] That...makes...allot of...sense...
TORGHAR : They n-need t-to b-be conscious s-sentient c-calculating b-beings t-to s-survive the h-harshness of the V-Vortex!! ... [Stops then] B-but... oh... ... [Looks to his hands with a sigh]
PATIENCE: [O/S] Where's the DOOR?
Aruken turns to the door and wanders over, opening it.
ARUKEN: It would be over here
Torghar seems not to notice, instead staring at his hands, biting his lip in determination. Nothing happens at first.
PATIENCE : [Looks in the door] Oh! I.. I'm sorry! [Looks away] I'm just leaving and.. I guess I got turned around.
Torghar's hands suddenly begin to glow. His eyes widen.
ARUKEN: [Smiles] You may want to see this, Korai. It's rather something one doesn't see every day.
Something crackles in Torghar's hands and his eyes widen.
ARUKEN: There it is! Hello life energy! Told you you still had it in you!
The light dies down as quickly as it started.
TORGHAR: [Frowns] C-crumbs..
ARUKEN: Hmm... It's still there. Just dormant. You just need to... [He taps his head] wake it up.
TORGHAR : M-my m-minds very alert t-thank you!
ARUKEN: hmm.... ..... Oh!! I know! I know! I KNOW!
TORGHAR : [Taken aback] You know?!
Aruken points a finger upwards. Torghar follows the line of his finger.
ARUKEN: I know what you need to do
He looks to his finger and then up at the ceiling.
ARUKEN: No not that
TORGHAR : N-not the c-cieling?
Aruken changes the direction of his finger and points at Torghar's forehead.
TORGHAR: No. In here [Smiles]
Torghar looks up at his forehead.
ARUKEN: I need you to clear everything in your mind: your worries and doubts...Focus the energy into your hands and concentrate like this
He demonstrates his own hands closing his eyes as a green small energy sparks off
into a flower shape.
TORGHAR : ...Uh... Alright......
ARUKEN: It's really simple. Now... You try.
Torghar's hands are shaky but he closes his eyes, focusing, letting out a deep breath. His hands begin to glow again and suddenly a golden sphere of energy forms. Patience watches fascinated.
ARUKEN: That's it. Keep trying
It grows a little rises up and morphs into the shape of a bird, flapping its wings; a golden bird made of light.
ARUKEN: There you go! Wonderful!
Torghar opens his eyes and stares at it with wonder and a delighted smile. The bird takes to flight, flying about the room, around Patience before flying up to the cieling and dispersing into particles of energy again. It leaves a trial of golden dust behind it.
Torghar touches his chest which is glowing now. Aruken sees this and his brow raises.
ARUKEN: Now thats...interesting
Torghar takes his hand away and it stops glowing.
TORGHAR: J-just that f-funny birthmark of m-mine...
ARUKEN: I remember it. Seems familiar...
PATIENCE : Wow...
Torghar looks to Patience then and goes a deep shade of red. Bows then quite low. Aruken smiles and laughs a bit behind his hand and bows to patience out of respect.
TORGHAR : [His glasses slip off his nose and clatter onto the ground] Oh c-crumbs!!!
PATIENCE : Oh.. please... Don't bow.
She picks up his glasses. He looks at her blindly. She puts them in his hand.
PATIENCE: I dont deserve it..
ARUKEN: Why not? You are a lady
Torghar takes his glasses from her and slowly puts them back on.
TORGHAR : A l-lady of the h-highest r-rank...
ARUKEN: Courtesy dictates bowing to the higer class.
TORGHAR : N-not only t-that.. b-but... W-well.. I have always h-had a natural d-d-deference to women...They are... the b-better sex... Though n-no one admits it anymore...I b-believe... b-being the n-natural l-life givers instantly m-makes them superior...
PATIENCE : You are far too kind, Doctor...
She looks at him, her face still dark under her hood.
TORGHAR : M-my m-mother's t-teachings...
PATIENCE : She was a good woman... i am sorry about your family..
TORGHAR : [Swallows and blanches a little] Y-yes... T-Twenty y-years ag-ago n-now... St-Still f-feels as though it w-was y-yesterday...
Aruken closes his eyes sadly and looks to the window. Torghar goes to his desk and tidies things awkwardly. He looks to his hands and there is a look of hope in his eyes.
TORGHAR: B-but... P-perhaps.. I sh-shan't be alone m-much l-longer...
Aruken glances to Torghar and smiles at him going to the window and looking out. He then looks to a potted plant he is growing there and gently feeds it water.
ARUKEN: Not when you have your gift
TORGHAR: It w-will t-take.. a lot of r-research...
PATIENCE : I'm sure you will find a good woman...
She looks away. He looks to her and laughs nervously.
TORGHAR : Oh n-no...Wh-what w-woman sh-should w-want a s-soft f-fool such as I..
PATIENCE : I'm sure theres... someone.. out there...
ARUKEN: Never say never
TORGHAR : I m-mean... t-to c-create a l-living t-time ship, Korai...Its b-been a d-dream of m-mine... f-for quite a t-time.. And... th-this m-may just b-be the k-key t-to Lord R-Rassilon's p-problems of the short lifespans of the s-ships...
PATIENCE : Rassilon is a fool. He's a cruel, tyrannical monster and you shouldn't have to take the abuse you do from him.
TORGHAR: P-perhaps. B-but he is f-funding m-my work...
PATIENCE: He shouldn'ttreat you that way.
TORGHAR I am used t-to it..
PATIENCE : You're much too good for it...
TORGHAR : You fl-flatter m-me, Korai...
PATIENCE : Well you shouldn't have to take his abuse to create your dreams...
She turns and looks at him, her hood falling off, revealing a red mark on her cheek, turning blue. Aruken looks to her wide eyed. She pulls her hood up quickly again.
TORGHAR : By the D-Divine M-menti Celesti, Korai-mi! Your f-face!
PATIENCE : Its nothing.
TORGHAR : [Comes to her reaching up a little] M-may I? Pl-please? I'm a doctor..
ARUKEN: [Looks between them] Tor...I just remembered that I promised a friend I would meet them today.. and im late. sorry about this i wll return later...
TORGHAR : Oh... Um... Alright...
PATIENCE : I should go too... Omega.. will want me home..
TORGHAR : Ah.. Uh... I could...
He goes to one of his cabinets and comes back with a pot of come sort of paste.
TORGHAR: R-rub this on the b-bruise...
He hands it to her.
PATIENCE : Thank you..
Aruken smiles to himself, shaking his head as he leaves the laboratory. Torghar offers her a seat and looks to her.
TORGHAR You kn-know, K-Korai-mi. If... If y-you n-need t-to t-talk..
PATIENCE : No... no. I cant... and you cant either.. please..
TORGHAR : Alright... B-but if you ever... My d-door's always open.. Just as a f-friend...
PATIENCE : I dont think so... Omega has.. forbidden me to see you alone...
TORGHAR : [He furrows his brow] Oh... Have I... d-done s-something t-to offend him?
PATIENCE : You looked at me... [Smiles a bit]
TORGHAR : [Blushes] Y-yes... w-w-well... uh... You're a pair b-bonded l-lady...
He turns away.
TORGHAR: P-Perhaps it is f-for the best..
PATIENCE : I guess so...
TORGHAR : D-distractions and all th-that...
PATIENCE : [Nods] I am sorry torghar
He goes to the workbench and starts organising blueprints.
TORGHAR: [Looks up] Wh-whatever f-for?
PATIENCE : For everything and that we can't be friends. I would have liked that.
TORGHAR : As w-would I.. but.. Our c-classes w-would n-not allow it ...Perhaps.. in the p-past.. Wh-when I had a f-family.. and c-connections.. B-but n-not now.. Not anymore.I d-don't even have a c-coin t-to m-my name.. M-my w-work.. is m-my life... and s-soon I hope.. if the G-Goddess is g-good.. That sh-she w-will bless me with someone w-worth living f-for...
PATIENCE : Well.... I am here often... perhaps... now that i know where you live... There might be a carepackage or two here for you.. [She smiles softly] An anonymous gift of sorts.
TORGHAR : [Sighs] I c-could n-not accept s-such gifts, Korai-mi...
PATIENCE : I did not even say what was in it.
TORGHAR : D-does it matter? I am n-not d-deserving of such th-things...
PATIENCE : I think you do.
TORGHAR : [Smiles a little] You are ... Quite a r-remarkable lady...
PATIENCE : Thank you. You seem to be the only one who thinks so.
TORGHAR : W-well I d-don't judge people...Its n-not my pl-place to... All I w-want.. is t-to c-create.. give l-life t-to something...S-something I c-can be proud of... s-something I c-can cherish...
PATIENCE : Well you need someone to keep you energized to be able to do that....
TORGHAR: I have 'Ruken, I suppose.. He's.. M-my very b-best friend...
PATIENCE : And does he eat?
TORGHAR : W-well.. um... I... I d-don't know. ... I've n-never s-seen him...
PATIENCE : Well then, he's not doing a very good job. I'll send you a package tomorrow when Omega returns.

He goes to her and takes her hand squeezing it thankfully. She looks at his hand, squeezing it back with a small blush to her cheeks. He smiles and then lets go and bows.
PATIENCE : Goodnight...
She turns and leaves the room, looking back before walking away. As soon as she is gone, Torghar walks back into the lab and tidies a little again. He sighs and turns to the window looking out at the setting sun in the West.
TORGHAR: Soon, Arpexia my dear... soon...
